Kits have a hierarchical structure that helps visitors navigate and find what they need.

The hierarchy

Kit

Page (e.g. "Logos")

Heading (e.g. "Primary Logo")

  • Asset

  • Note

Heading (e.g. "Logo Variations")

  • Gallery

Page (e.g. "Colors") Page (e.g. "Typography")

Pages

Pages are the main views within a Kit:

  • Top-level containers for your content

  • Pages appear in the Navigator

  • Visitors navigate between Pages

Headings

Headings subdivide content within a Page:

  • Group related Assets together

  • Appear in the Navigator under their Page

  • Help visitors jump to specific content

Content blocks

Within Pages, you add:

  • Assets - Individual files from your Library

  • Banner - Full-width images for visual impact

  • Galleries - Groups of Assets displayed together

  • Notes - Text blocks with rich formatting

  • Guides - Do and Don't usage guidelines

Fun fact: Banners are actually just assets that are created with the dispay settings configured with differnt display settings. You can adjust these settings after it is created, or adjust any asset to match the banner style.

Layout and presentation

While not a formal part of the hierarchy, how you arrange and present on the canvas can have a huge impact on how visitors experience your Kit. You can use the size and alignment options in the Action Menu to create visual hierarchy and guide visitors through your content.

Best practices

Use Pages for major categories - Logos, Colors, Typography

Use Headings for subcategories - Primary Logo, Secondary Logo

Use Galleries for Asset collections - Galleries are like folders for assets within a Page.
