Saved views aren't just for browsing the Library—they can also power dynamic Galleries in your Kits. When you link a saved view to a Gallery, the Gallery automatically displays all Assets matching that view's criteria.
How it works
A dynamic Gallery pulls Assets based on filter criteria rather than manual selection.
Note: Saved views only store filters—not search queries or sort order. Dynamic Galleries display matching Assets in the Gallery's own sort order.
When you connect a saved view:
The Gallery displays all Assets matching the saved view's filters
When new Assets are added to the Library that match the criteria, they appear in the Gallery automatically
When Assets no longer match (e.g., status changes), they're removed from the Gallery
This keeps your Kits current without manual updates.
Creating a dynamic Gallery from a saved view
Open a Kit and navigate to the Page where you want the Gallery
Add a new Gallery
Choose Dynamic as the Gallery type
Select a saved view from the dropdown
The Gallery populates with matching Assets
Use cases
Always-current brand assets
Create a saved view for "Status = Approved" and has the "Brand" tag. When connected to a dynamic Gallery in your brand guidelines Kit. As Assets get approved and tagged with "Brand," they appear automatically.
Project-specific content
Save a view filtering by a project tag or custom field. The Gallery in your project Kit stays updated as new Assets are tagged.
File type collections
Create views for specific file types ("All SVG Icons," "All Videos") and use them in Galleries to maintain organized collections.
Expiration tracking
A view for "Expiring within 30 days" linked to a Gallery helps teams see what needs attention.
Updating the connection
If you update a saved view's filters, Galleries using that view update automatically to reflect the new criteria.
To change which saved view a Gallery uses:
Select the Gallery in your Kit
Open the Gallery settings
Choose a different saved view
The Gallery repopulates with the new view's Assets
Best practices
Name views clearly: Since views appear in a dropdown when creating Galleries, clear names help Kit editors choose correctly
Test before publishing: Preview the Gallery to ensure it shows what you expect
Consider the audience: Dynamic Galleries are great for evolving content, but manual Galleries offer more control over presentation
