Getting your files into Lingo is straightforward. You can upload directly to your Library for centralized management, or add files straight to a Kit while working on it.
Admins and Content Managers can upload Assets to the Library. Anyone with edit access to a Kit can upload directly to that Kit.
Upload methods
Drag and drop
The fastest way to upload is to simply drag files from your computer and drop them into the Library (or any Kit). You can drag one file or multiple files at once.
Click to browse
In the Library, click Add in the toolbar
Select the type of asset you want to create
The next step will depend on what type of asset you selected:
For file-based assets (images, videos, documents, etc.), click choose files or drag your files in to the upload area.
For color assets, use the color picker or enter hex/RGB values to create swatches.
For link assets, enter the URL you want to save.
Paste content
Lingo supports pasting several types of content directly:
Images: Copy a PNG from another app (or your computer) and paste it into the Library or Kit
SVG data: Paste SVG code to create a vector Asset
Color values: Paste a single or comma-separated list of hex, RGB, or HSL values to create color swatches
Figma links: Paste a Figma URL to import designs (requires Figma integration)
Import from Figma
Connect your Figma account to import designs directly. See Importing Assets from Figma for setup instructions.
Import from Cloud Storage
When adding file Assets, you can choose to upload directly from cloud services like Google Drive or Dropbox. Select the service when prompted and follow the instructions to connect and select your files.
Where Assets go
When you upload to the Library, Assets are stored centrally and can be added to any Kit later.
When you upload directly to a Kit, the Assets are automatically added to your Library as well. This means every Asset in your space lives in the Library, regardless of where you uploaded it.
Upload tips
Bulk uploads: Select multiple files to upload them all at once
Naming: Assets are named after their original filename β you can rename them after they upload if desired
Duplicates: Lingo does not currently detect dupicates though this is a feature we plan to add in the future to help keep your library steamlined.
