Lingo's Figma integration lets you import designs and components directly from your Figma files into your Library. Once connected, you can pull in components, frames, and other elements without exporting and re-uploading manually.
Admins and Content Managers can set up the Figma integration. Once configured, any editor can import from the connected accounts's Figma files.
Connecting Figma
Before importing, you'll need to connect your Figma account to Lingo:
Click the gear icon in the left rail to open Space settings
Select the Integrations tab
Find Figma and click Connect
Sign in to Figma when prompted and authorize Lingo
Once connected, anyone with edit access can import from Figma files the connected account has access to.
Note that you cannot import from files that the connected account does not have permission to view.
Importing from Figma
From the Library
Click Add in the Library toolbar
Select Figma
Paste a Figma link to frame, component or file
If you paste in a file link, you'll be prompted to select specific elements to import
If you paste in a frame or component link, that specific element will be imported immediately
By pasting a link
You can also paste a Figma link directly into the Library or a Kit. Lingo will recognize the URL and prompt you to import the linked content.
What gets imported
When you import from Figma, Lingo creates Assets based on the elements you select:
Lingo captures the asset as an SVG file directly from Figma but does not store the editable Figma data. These assets will appear as SVG assets which give you the greatest flexibility for converting and resizing them later.
Lingo also stores a link back to the source in Figma. You can find that under the details section in the inspector.
Keeping Assets in sync
After importing, you can update Assets when your Figma designs change. See Keeping Figma in sync for details on how to pull changes from figma into Lingo.
