Adding Products to a Channel

Learn how to choose which product variants a channel carries by adding them to its inventory.

Channels is currently in beta. We'd love your feedback — contact us and let us know what you think.

Only Admins and Content Managers can manage Channels.

Once you've created a channel, the next step is choosing which variants it carries. A channel's Inventory is the set of variants you've added to it.

What can be added

A variant appears in a channel's Catalog tab when:

  • Its Availability is Available

  • Its product is Active (not archived)

  • It's in the channel's market, if the channel is limited to one

If a variant you expect isn't showing up, check its Availability first. New variants start as Draft and won't appear until you change them.

Adding variants to a channel

You add variants one at a time, by SKU.

To add a variant to a channel:

  1. Open the channel and go to the Catalog tab

  2. Find the variant you want. Variants are grouped under their product

  3. Select Add to Inventory

  4. Review the variant's details in the window that opens

  5. Select Added to Inventory to confirm

The variant moves to the channel's Inventory and is tracked from here on. Lingo then moves on to the next variant so you can keep going.

If you're not ready to decide on a variant, select I'll do it later. It stays in the Catalog tab as Available, and you can come back to it any time.

Adding a product doesn't automatically add all of its variants. If Aero adds the Glacier Teal / Medium Ridgeline Jacket to a channel, the other eight variants aren't included until they're added too.

When you launch new variants

Channels don't pick up new variants on their own. When you make a new variant Available — say Aero launches a new Ridgeline Jacket color — it shows up as New in each channel's Catalog tab (and the Updated tab). Review it and add it to the channels that should carry it.

Seeing a product's channels

To see which channels carry a product, open the product and look at the Channels card. It lists the first few channels with the status of each variant, and View more + shows the full list.
