Channels is currently in beta. We'd love your feedback — contact us and let us know what you think.

Only Admins and Content Managers can manage Channels.

Products don't last forever. When a variant a channel carries is discontinued, Lingo flags it so you can pull it from the destination. You can also remove variants from a channel yourself.

When a variant is retired

A variant a channel carries is marked Retired when the channel can no longer see it. That happens when:

  • Its Availability is changed to Retired, Draft, or Hidden

  • The variant is deleted

  • Its market changes so it's no longer in the channel's market

  • Its product is archived or deleted

Retired variants appear in the channel's Updated tab with a notice that the product has been removed from your catalog.

To handle a retired variant:

  1. Open the channel's Updated tab

  2. Select Review on the variant

  3. Remove it from the destination — a retailer's site, for example

  4. Select Mark Done

The variant moves to Dropped. It stays in the Inventory tab for reference, but it's no longer part of the channel's active catalog.

When Aero retires the Dune Cream / Large Ridgeline Jacket, it shows as Retired on every channel that carries it. After the team removes it from each retailer, they select Mark Done on each channel.

Removing a variant from a channel

If a channel should no longer carry a variant, even though it's still available in your catalog, you can remove it.

To remove a variant:

  1. Open the channel and find the variant in the Inventory tab

  2. Open the row's menu and select Remove from Inventory

  3. Confirm by selecting Remove

Only that variant is removed. Other variants of the same product stay in the channel. If it was the last variant of the product, the product is removed from the channel too.

The variant returns to the Catalog tab, so you can add it again later.

If you add a variant back to a channel after removing it, Lingo has no earlier version to compare to, so it shows as Updated until you review it again.

Archiving a product

Archiving a product sets its Available variants to Retired, so channels carrying it will flag them. Restoring the product returns its variants to Draft. Set them to Available again to make them available to channels.
